I am a little confused on the purpose and the correct answers to the "Name the layer and compare the density to the picture" part of the lab activity. Especially the "Why?" Part.

The question is designed to help students understand that the density of the layers increases as you move from the mantle to the core. The questions also are trying to help students make sense of the density meter. Because of scaling, sometimes the density is greater than what can be shown on the meter. This causes additional meters to pop up next to the original meter. The "Why" part of the table is trying to get students to explain the trend in density they observe in the simulation.
