I like many of the ideas, but I wish students were invited to do more of there own thinking about how to design the experiments. Perhaps some challenge questions like "What material makes the water change temperature the most?" Then, maybe the students could figure out how to use the sim and feel more capable of design.

hadleyd@citrus.k12.fl.us commented: I liked the activity. My kids enjoyed watching the energy E's enter or leave the blocks. I had to use it as a whole group as these do not run on IPad's.

Would like to see you incorporate how energy is transformed in living systems such as photosynthesis or cellular respiration. Can use this as a starting point to review energy transformations.
