Try the HTML5 version of Build an Atom to refresh your knowledge of the periodic table. With your fingers, build an atom out of protons, neutrons, and electrons, and see how the element, charge, and mass change. Then play a game to test what you’ve re-learned!
Come to PhET’s workshop, Using PhET Interactive Simulations, at the ICCE 2014 conference in Toronto, Canada on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 10:30 AM. Presented by PhET’s Yuen-ying Carpenter, Bryce Gruneich, and Emily Moore, this workshop will provide an introduction to our 30 chemistry simulations that support students from middle school to undergraduate levels in developing conceptual models of macroscopic and microscopic phenomena through inquiry. You’ll learn strategies for effective use for teaching and learning – highlighting specific teaching approaches that target common student difficulties and scaffold student understanding. Additionally, we will provide guidance and feedback for writing effective questions and activities around PhET simulations.
And don’t forget to stop by our booth.

This will affect only parts of the site, specifically logging in, some activity pages, etc. It should not affect the simulations. We expect that the maintenance will last over an hour. Over the 2013-14 school year, we were able to redesign and publish 16 new HTML5 versions of our simulations. And, even though school’s ending, PhET will be hard at work during the summer.
So please donate today and keep this important work on track. Together, we can make the draft version of Circuit Construction Kit a reality, and bring the many other simulations to HTML5 compatibility along with a more modern look and feel.
